Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)

This course is accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and provides you exemptions from professional examinations.

You will be eligible for the following exemptions:

  • F1 Accountants in Business
  • F2 Management Accounting
  • F3 Financial Accounting
  • F5 Performance Management (upon passing Performance and Decision Management (NBS8224) and Managerial Decision Making and Planning (NBS8233)

Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)

This course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and provides you exemptions from professional examinations.

You have two options to choose from to join CIMA:

A gateway route which is an accelerated route which allows you to take the CIMA’s Master’s gateway assessment. Once successfully passed, you will be granted 11 exemptions from CIMA’s certificate, operational and management level exams.

A non-gateway route which provides you with the following exemptions:

  • BA1 Fundamentals of Business Economics
  • BA2 Fundamentals of Management Accounting
  • BA3 Fundamentals of Financial Accounting
  • E1 Organisational Management
  • P1 Management Accounting
  • P2 Advanced Management Accounting

Entry requirements

A 2:1 honours degree, or international equivalent, in any subject. You also need to show a good basic level of numeracy equivalent to a GCSE.

We will also consider your application on an individual basis if you have a 2:2 honours degree.

International Students

To study this course you need to meet our Band 6 English Language requirements:

Direct Entry: IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.0 in all sub-skills)

If you have lower English Language scores, you may be accepted onto a pre-sessional English course. 

Our typical English Language requirements are listed as IELTS scores but we also accept a wide range of English Language tests.

Pre-sessional English Course Requirements

  • 6 week Pre-sessional entry: IELTS 6.0 overall (with 6.0 in writing and a minimum of 5.5 in all other sub-skills)    
  • 10 week Pre-sessional entry: IELTS 6.0 overall (with 1 sub-skill at a minimum of 5.0 and 3 sub-skills at a minimum of 5.5, including writing)

You can study a pre-sessional English course at our INTO Newcastle Centre.

Our Business and Humanities Graduate Diplomas will prepare you for Master's study at Newcastle. If you're successful then you're guaranteed a place on this Master's course. Depending on your level of English, you can choose from:
