Theology as an academic discipline looks at the nature of the divine and the various religious beliefs around the world. As a student of theology, you will study the human experience of faith and how it is expressed by different cultures and societies. Whilst you may have an interest in one particular religion, theologians tend to look at the many different religions that exist.
Graduates of a degree in theology will have a range of career options available to them. The skills you gain during your degree will be applicable to various different fields. Some options include religious studies teacher, counsellor, chaplain/cleric, religious historian and archivist, among others.
Your degree will be delivered through a mixture of modes. These will include lectures and seminars, as well as possible group projects. Depending on your course, you may also have the opportunity to take part in a work placement. Modules you study could include:
