Architects have a unique set of skills which can help identify and articulate the development potential of sites and buildings where others cannot. Drawing such skills together through entrepreneurialism strengthens architectural practice, and offers up the opportunity to control and drive the construction process forward like no other profession.
The aim of this programme is to equip architects with the necessary tools to design, cost, and procure buildings acting as designer, client and project manager. The MSc seeks to create entrepreneurial architects who will understand both the art and craft of building development. It will be a studio focused design course supplemented by case study based professional classes.
This cross disciplinary MSc mirrors the increasingly integrated approach of the contemporary construction industry and has the potential to draw on the resources of the University of Liverpool’s Schools of Management and Law alongside Architecture, as well as the unique campus location in the City of London. Finsbury Square is very well placed, close to the cultural centre of the Barbican and the financial centre of the City of London, allowing the programme to build links with architectural practices and drawing upon the wealth of knowledge and expertise available in the City.
Teaching will be delivered by a mixture of invited experts in the construction and finance industries combined with input from existing University staff.
