Nearly 50% of the top250 Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE) companies have a CEO who studied for an engineering degree. Our Faculty of Engineering and Science offers a range ofbusiness and management degrees to set you on the road to leadership.
Industry linksThis degree has been designed around criteria established by e-skills UK, the Sector Skills Council for IT and Telecoms, and is supported by some of the leading businesses in this country. It provides a mixture of IT, business and personal development that makes it a combination of the traditional degree and also a graduate training programme.
The learning is split into four broadly even quartiles, each of which provides a themed area of study and learning outcomes including information technology, business management, project management and, finally, interpersonal and transferable skills.
The programme ensures that graduates have confidence in presenting and selling ideas, concepts and solutions. Graduates are also taught to be flexible, open minded and reflective when listening to others and trying to understand their needs and the contexts of those needs. The programme is recognised by over 90 international and national companies including Accenture, BA, BBC, CA, Capgemini, Cisco, Deloitte, Ford, Fujitsu, HP/EDS, IBM, ITV, Logica, Micro Focus, Morgan Stanley, Network Rail, Proctor and Gamble, Sainsbury's, SAS and Unilever.
Work placementStudents can take the option of applying for one of the many opportunities provided by the ITMB programme Employer Forum to undertake a short summer placement (8-12 weeks) or longer placement (9 months) to gain the industrial and practical experience from the respective environment.
OutcomesThe unique benefits of this programme provide students with expert involvement, applied study, better employability prospects, industry links, and social media interaction.
