This course is for people seeking a career in health and social care but who do not have the qualifications to gain entry to the degree course of their chosen career. It gives you the study skills and academic preparation to progress to one of our professional courses. To enrol on this course you must pass an interview based on the profession you want to enter. If you pass your interview and complete the course achieving the overall grade required, you can progress to your chosen degree or diploma. This course allows you to progress to our BA (Honours) Applied Nursing and Social Work (Learning Disability) if you achieve 40 per cent BA (Honours) Nursing Studies – Adult, Child or Mental Health Nursing if you achieve 40 per cent BA (Honours) Social Work if you achieve 40 per cent BA (Honours) Youth and Community Work if you achieve 40 per cent BSc (Honours) Diagnostic Radiography if you achieve 50 per cent BSc (Honours) Occupational Therapy if you achieve 55 per cent BSc (Honours) Physiotherapy if you achieve 60 per cent BSc (Honours) Radiotherapy and Oncology if you achieve 50 per cent We also have opportunities to study biosciences courses. During the course you develop skills in numeracy, biology, anatomy and physiology build on your communication skills learn to reflect on what you have learnt explore a range of health and social care professions It also enables you to learn from professionals from all health and social care specialities meet and learn with students who have already completed this course and progressed to healthcare degrees complete some voluntary work in an area of interest to you during your studies study across both our City Campus and Collegiate Crescent Campus.
