About BSc (Hons) Psychology, BSc (Hons), UG:Bachelor - at Regent's University London

Psychology covers a wide range of topics and captures the public imagination. We are all part of groups, organisations, relationships, and consequently an insight into the workings of human behaviour and motivation is of relevance and interest to us all.

This programme offers a pathway to gaining an understanding of such processes. It presents not only traditional areas of psychology, but also includes an element of psychotherapy and counselling, and enables you to choose from a range of applied psychology options in your second and third years.

Why should I choose this programme?

This programme emphasises the psychosocial aspects of human behaviour. It has a distinctive design and content structure which reflects our expertise and London location.

Key skills, aims and objectives

  • Explore a range of areas that are typical of the discipline, including statistics and research methods
  • Develop your interest in the psychosocial aspects of psychology
  • Benefit from a range of dynamic, modern options that allow you to pursue your individual interests
  • Pursue your own independent research in the final year

Future opportunities

There are many excellent career opportunities open to psychology graduates. A degree in psychology equips you with strong transferable skills including the ability to evaluate evidence, analyse research data, communicate clearly and solve complex problems. These skills are valued highly by employers.

Many psychology graduates pursue careers in fields such as education, social services, advertising, marketing and human resources, as well as the health professions.

About 20% of psychology graduates choose to undertake specialist postgraduate study in psychology and then to work professionally as a psychologist. There are many specialisms from which to choose, including clinical, educational, counselling, occupational, forensic, health and academic psychology.

Entry requirements

We require a minimum of three passes at GCE A-level at grade C or above, and five passes at GCSE/IGCSE level at grade C or above, including English and Maths. Other international qualifications will also be accepted. For those applicants whose mother tongue is not English, we also require evidence of English language proficiency.
